Rotary disk multi-phase freestanding-electret generator with enhanced power and low ripple output

Energy harvesters with higher power and direct-current (DC) output are of great significance for the energy supply electronic devices. Here, we demonstrate rotary disk multi-phase freestanding-electret generators (MFEGs) enhanced low ripple via a novel design. This design can enhance by reduction generator capacitance improvement transferable charge density through positively utilizing edge effect. The factors which both theoretical experimental results show that two- three-phase FEGs have maximum than conventional single-phase FEG (SFEG) two-phase (TFEG) has highest one. To further improve power, optimize structural parameters TFEG obtain 78.4% optimal SFEG in experiment. Moreover, MFEGs connected to rectifier bridges almost DC outputs. And since each phase is independent, be utilized separately, example, one as sensing signal other output, providing broad prospect self-powered sensing.

Analysis of output ripple in multi-phase clocked charge pumps

This paper presents a mathematical analysis of the ripple voltage caused by a mismatch in parasitic capacitances in multi-phase, clocked charge pumps. Through detailed circuit modeling, we show that a relatively large pedestal ripple is caused by a small mismatch in parasitic capacitance.
